The Mets always seem to be chasing the Braves.
As a long time Met fan, I'm more than a little excited by the moves they've made so far.
Cedeno, Alomar, Vaughn, Astacio, Estes and Weathers all seem to be good pick-ups and should help.
If the Mets succeed in getting Burnitz...even better.
They held on to solid guys like Piazza, Alfonso, and Ordonez.
They gained speed and power, and have what may be the best middle infield defensive combination in baseball.
But will it be good enough?
Is their pitching solid enough? Remember, overall pitching in baseball is pretty diluted these days. A rotation of Leiter, Astacio, Chen, Estes, and Trachsel seems solid although not overwhelming.
Any thoughts?
