I am the auditing goddess...

Had my performance review at work today. The comptroller and I had a really nice talk about what changes have occurred lately, and how we were dealing with them. I actually brought up realizing that I have a tendancy to micromanage, and that I was working on backing off and letting my new coauditor have her head before she had to bring it up (always good to be aware of your flaws). Made a suggestion for a company-wide electronic log book (one that you would be able to click on on any workstation and add to), and was met with a blank look... because that was a feature they were going to be introducing with the next upgrade... a feature that she hadn't mentioned to anybody. Didn't actually claim to have found a cure for cancer during the last year, but since that was one of the previous year's accomplishments, I figured it would be overkill.

Fantastic!

So do ya'll still use a manual logbook? Or is it just workstation dependent?

We just took out all references to manual logbooks in our high school text and made them all "transaction files." Now I'm a little nervous about that change.

Yep, we still use a large book with blank pages for our log book. There are days, however, when I simply type up the events of the night and leave a copy in the logbook, because I simply can't write that much legibly without my hand trying to fall off.

very well done

we use a "red" book-I type out any notes I have and leave them on the desk, so that people can actually READ the notes
