Now Everyone is Grumpy

Ok - It's really hot in here today. I'm always cold, and I think its unbearably hot. CCW2 is about to pass out. Of course rather than tell the boss that she can't take the heat, she pisses him off by saying "its not normal to be 85 in here". Then she continues to antagonize him. I asked her why she doesn't just tell him what she has to say like, "Boss - it's really really hot in here, I don't think the AC is working" but that would be too easy. So she has to get on his last nerve. Well, it IS really unbearably hot in here, so I figured I'd just handle it by going to his office and saying "Boss, I think the AC isn't working properly". Well, already crabby, he starts cursing J Fing C, blah blah blah, its working just fine. I hear it. The fan has been running all day and no cold air is coming out.
It's a tiny building, but that side is always better air conditioned and better heated. So now we're all cranky and miserable.

Oh great! As I sit here, I'm watching CCW2 hyperventilate and bring on one of her "asthma" attacks - I watched her work her way up to it. She's out therre hyperventilating and panting. CCW1 went out there this time.

Keep your cool Wormie. I know it is hot, and I agree it is miserable. But remember if her attack is real, and she can't breathe, she doens't belong working. Someone should call 911.

I didn't go outside. CCW1 did. She came back in and I said we should call 911. 1 said that she asked 2 and she said no. I stayed inside, and she calmed down and came back. She's being very dramatic though. She and I go home at 4. I told her to just go now and I'd clean up what she's working on, but she said "no" she's better. But she's dramatic, it is awfully hot, the boss is now pissy and #1 isn't thrilled that she had to deal with the "crisis". Just another day....

She sounds like a pistol. I think every building has one. We have one too. I try to ignore her as much as I can. She has every ailgment known to mankind.

Try to stay cool. Is the humidity high there too?

Yeah. The actual temps are were actually predicted to be on the low side today - its about 93, but the heat index is supposed to be up around 105-110 today.

I think that is in the neighborhood of what we are having today too. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse.

Well, at least its quiet now, and I can leave in a half hour.
I just hate displaced aggression. I know the boss didn't yell at me, but I hate that crap.

Its' that hot here today too. But supposed to be 72 tomorrow.

Oh, and my suggestion? Just start pelting her with icecubes or use a squirt gun on her.

Then boss started cursing about something under his breath and he left. 20 minutes and I leave.

So.

Get to work this morning.
The boss, who usually isn't here till 9 or 9:30 is here putting together 2 freestanding fans. Good. Now everyone will be happy!
Oh no! CCW2 doesn't want a fan. She wants the AC to work properly (which, today it is, btw). She's acting all cute and cheerful. He's acting all friendly and nice because he feels badly about snapping yesterday. I'm fine but annoyed with both of them.
So she doesn't want a fan.
Boss asks where to put them. I tell him one by the conference table, one in CCW2's office. Oh no! She can't work with a fan blowing on her. How can ANYONE work with a fan blowing on them?

Try it - you can face it away from you and upwards, and it will just circulate the are and help. And we can use it when we work in the vault - which is always really really hot. Ok - it'll be great it the vault, but I can't work with it blowing on me.

She doesn't want to be comfortable, she wants to be right and to be the center of everyone's universe.
So - the boss leaves.
No sooner does he leave but the power goes out. CCW2 (now not so cheerful) says "See! He doesn't think that there is anything wrong with the AC!!!"

What does that have to do with the AC? "It probably blew the fuse" Well, of course 2 minutes later, the power comes back. Couldn't possibly be that its hot and the entire county is running the AC.
You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can NEVER please CCW2.

I'm afraid I must not speak CCW2's language. I don't understand that statement.

I'm sorry, though, that you're having to deal with this insanity. I suppose breaking out into hysterical laughter and telling her how ridiculous she is would probably be considered unprofessional, right? Just think what your office would look like if you were all starring in a sit-com.

Yeah - what Pippa says. But you get all those hugs and "I love you, Mommy"s. The only plus I get is the paycheck - though it is a really good perk!
