Ideally, an astronaut. I can't imagine anything cooler than that. |

I know it's silly, but I would probably still pick computer programmer. I miss it and wish I were doing more of it.

I don't know. Is there a school for kept women? I would probably need a remedial course.

| | Re If you could have any career in the world | | I'd like to be a kept woman also, but, I'd like to plan charity events in my spare time. Big, impressive galas raising bazillions of dollars for charity.
Reminds me... I want to get up extra early tomorrow so I can buy some donuts or something to set out. I'll feed my coworkers and beg for donations
Short of that... maybe I'm starting to do it. I kept thinking of how unhappy I was with my job that won't go anywhere and how I don't want to deal with parents so I don't want to teach... and I realized I am not a kept woman so I cannot live my entire life raising money for other people...
The only thing left that I liked was jewelry. So I'm taking classes and getting a second job in a jewelry store (god willing) where I can get into the business (at near minimum wage) :/ I really love jewelry. I already knew a fair amount about it before I started taking classes. And well, I think you're a good salesperson if you truly love something. We'll see though. I can't imagine I like the idea of sales quotas and being driven to sell sell sell. Someone tell me that if I am a good salesperson I'm going to make a livable sallary from working in a jewelry store. Because I won't want to keep two jobs forever.

| | Re If you could have any career in the world | | I wanted to be an architect when I was younger. But good girls didn't do "men's work". When I was young, girls were either nurses, teachers, secretaries, or moms. For me the lesser of the evils was teaching. As it was, I was the first in my entire family to go to college, and I lived away from home. My parents were fine with it, but my uncles and aunts were not. It caused a family rift, that still hangs on today. The killer is, I was a shy quiet good kid, and I wouldn't have dreamed of doing anything wrong. My parents knew that. But I still had to choose a "girl's" profession.
Now, I love what I do, but if I could do it all over, I'd be an architect.

| | Re If you could have any career in the world | | LOL I'm a bit with Hymie... I'd like to be a porn star... just kidding... no really... nah, just kidding.
Really, my dream job would be doing what I enjoy -- maybe guided mountain biking tours in the summer and guided snow skiing excursions in the winter. Then, coming home and being my wife's own personal porn star. |

| | Re If you could have any career in the world | | I think I'd want to do what I'm doing. Perhaps working with fiction instead of non-fiction, but that seems ungrateful given how much I enjoy and appreciate where I work now.
I suppose if I could write about theater and religion, things would improve a notch.

I actually ran into a friend from high school a few weeks ago, and was amazed that he was actually an actor doing regional theater in DC. I was jealous. |
