Why, Yes I Am "Cranky When Provoked" Thank-You

Today we had a "manditory meeting" to go over the new training essentials for all employees.

I was NOT thrilled to have to go. The manager did the scheduel in such a way that while everyone got "paid" for being there, no-one got overtime for it. I had to come on my day off, a round trip of around 2 hours in a car that doesn't run very well for two hours of-this is how you will act and talk and look from here on out.

I don't remember if my ops manager told me that the meeting was to be buisness casual. I really don't. Regardless, I was up at 3am with a sick kid, I was dead tired and I grabbed the first clean, not needing ironing clothes I could find-blue pants and a grey t-shirt.

I have several grey t-shirts. With varrious sayings, pictures-or not.

I grabbed the one that says "Cranky When Provoked" with a picture of Stitch on it.

I think my subconcious was working overtime. I'm sure the Ops manger thinks I did it on purpose. The managment trainer had fun with it and called me "Cranky" the entier meeting.

I like this nickname better than my last one

I was being called "Scarlett" like as from "Gone With The Wind" because I'm apparently a drama queen.

I must have one of those shirts. It's essential meeting wear!

Ooof. They really know how to sabotage their own training efforts, don't they?

Love the shirt!

I bought it at the Disney Store along with one that has a picture of the cat from Alice In Wonderland. I think both together cost me about $25. Well worth it.

If you're considering an upgrade, they are available.

Yeah, I'm getting one of those for the wife too, Eris. You ought to get a commission.

Meanwhile, Crank--, err, Fridai, tell 'em to jump in a lake. When they can balance kids, home life, work, etc. and show up looking like a magazine cover, then they can bitch.

Meanwhile, stop being a drama queen. No, no, no, I didn't mean that, Scarlett. I mean, geez, you gave us ammunition. We had to take the one shot, right?

Seriously, tell them to go pound sand.

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby
