Time Management

I'm having a tough time not wasting time. Sometimes I think it was easier when I had someone looking over my shoulder.

Re Time Management

Keep your internet turned off, including email and web searching, when writing. Do not IM when writing. Close your office (or bedroom, or wherever) door when writing to train the family that "mommy is working". Get up, and get dressed - not PJs or sweats, but dressed (yes, jeans are "dressed", the point is not be in "sleepwear"). It focuses you on working and makes your time feel more structured. Be consistent - if you work best in the morning when the kids are at school (or napping, or whatever), claim that as writing time every day, not errand time, not solitaire time, not TV time, not household chore time.

Re Time Management

That's great advice. I do alot of it. I always get dressed and I work when my kids take a 3 hour nap. But you're right about the internet. I need to stick to the designated times that I have for internet use.

Thank you for the help.
