It's been 80 degrees in the back office all week now. I've mobbed every maintenance guy that comes within a 50 foot radius of me, but none of them have fixed it yet.

I swear, I am *this* close to moving operations down to the computer room. If only I could figure out how to jury-rig a printer down there. I can already set all the phones to foward down there, so that won't be a problem. I think I'll just station a security guard at the front desk to make keys and take credit card imprints.

I'm DYING. Seriously.

You've just described my classroom (minus 30 hot sweaty hormonal teenagers mixed in.) We were supposed to have a new cooling system in place this year but IT ISN'T WORKING! They control it from 5 miles away from an AIR CONDITIONED (real air conditioning not a "cooler" which is what ours is called) office. Our fans disappeared over last summer. Got to get to the store today!

When I get out my tazar and point it at some aggravating child, they just say, "Mrs. D your're not in a very good mood today, are you?"

I have 2 ceiling fans and 1 oscilating fan in my classroom. Our building was built for a/c, but the big unit was not purchased. I have 3 small window. No ventilation. Add to that the 30 sweating preteenagers, and I am so dreading going back tomorrow. So dreading.

We have working air conditioning and only 19 smelly, sweaty little ones who then cool off quickly. I feel badly for the maintenance people at our school. When the power goes out, they are required to stay, and it doesn't always cool down by evening. Oh, but I know a teacher down the hall who was trying to hunt down maintenance for a while. They finally put in a little swamp cooler, but it is still awful in her classroom. Makes it hard to think or do any kind of work.

I've noticed all schools tend to be too hot year round. You know, for "budgetary reasons". Seems comfortable learning environment would trump other things, but I guess not.

Sweaty little ones smell like wet puppies ....the older version is a bit more aromatic But it's their extra body heat that makes the temperature rise and that's what is most unbearable...the temperature in the room. I'm upstairs (heat rises) and I have one window that opens but that doesn't provide cross ventilation.

Oh well. about 3 weeks more.

Aren't you the one who believes there's no such thing as too much AC, and the rest of us should shut up and put on sweaters?

You'd love Hubby's classroom, he cranks the AC and the kids all complain they can't hold their pens 'cause their fingers are numb. But at home he cranks the heat. Go figger.

I'm a firm believer in being freaking COMFORTABLE in a work environment...80 when you are at work is too hot. 80 outside on the deck is great.

My office goes from needing a heater on in the a.m. when I get there to needing a fan on in the afternoon after lunch.

I actually like it cold and put on a light sweat jacket. I think it's because I grew up on the coast.

The engineering guy promised me this morning that they were going to finish *actually* fixing the AC today. Please let this be true.
