The fiscal year ends today. I've already fielded one phone call from an accounting biddy on closing out accounts that are going to be in use today. Every year I tell them to just let me do it before I change the date in the computer the night of the last day of the fiscal year, every year they say, "No, it's fine, we know what we're doing" and every year they screw it up and I end up fixing it anyway.
To make it REALLY fun, one of the house accounts in question is the discount account where we send the revenue for the "package" rooms that include free breakfast. There are FIFTY-FIVE people in the hotel who are RIGHT NOW heading down to the restaurant with their breakfast coupons in their hot little hands. And the accounting department didn't understand me when I told them this would be a problem for them today.
