Resume Advice

I'd like to update my resume to include my new position but I wasn't sure of the format.

Do make my format like this :

This company.......dates
............my current position
......................what I do
.............the other job I did
.......................what I did

(sorry for the periods, the forum is erasing my spacing otherwise )

Or is there another way to do it? It just doesn't seem correct.

As a side note... anyone not completely happy in their current job should consider posting a resume online. I'm getting calls for interviews while I'm not actively looking for a job, which is a great feeling. And who knows, maybe one day an unbelievable opportunity will knock

That's one format, but it's a really old format. PM me your email address and I'll send you an example of a newer format.

Although there's nothing especially wrong with that format either. Depends how many companies are on the list and what kind of role you're going for, I think.

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

Also in MS Word there are some really good templates that can be used.

I have been in different management positions and the key is to be clear and precise without too much blah, blah.

Let me know if you want me to forward you the instructions to get to these templates.

Good Luck,

I've been looking for a new job, and these two books really helped with my resume and interviewing skills:

Get the Interview Every Time - by Green
60 Seconds and You're Hired - by Robin Ryan
