You guys aren't going to believe this one. My van died on the way to my last meeting. I didn't get to go to it at all. I called my editor to let her know and that I would come in tomorrow and say goodbye - but she insisted that I had to come in tonight.

They're up to something I'm on the computer and have been told to stay here for a while.

Well what can I say about that whole putting windoze on a Mac thing? I mean once the door has been opened to the evil...

It was the mac ftp client. With my old ftp client, if I updated stuff that had the same directory structure, it added the new files in or overwrote the old ones.

This one wiped out all of the files and then put in the new ones. Thank heavens for backups, but there's still a lot of stuff that has to be set right.

The van is fixed already. The terminials on the battery corroded. (Ya know I just had it worked on last week and asked them to look it over and see if anything else needed attention BEFORE it broke.)

Kareem's friend came out and got me back on the road and Wal-Mart fixed it for free. (Kareem's friend used to work there )

So, I am going to invest in Triple A for the two cars before I start the job on Monday. A breakdown a week is a bit ridiculous, wouldn't you say?

Amy, check your cell phone plan, too. We were going to get AAA until we realized that Cingular offered roadside assistance. For $2.99 a month, we get the same services as AAA.

They had a cake and we got together for a bit. Even the off-duty stringers came in. I'm going to miss that place.
