| | We did a potluck today and honestly, I don't think I'll ever participate again.
I bought a bunch of side items, other people brought cooked things, chicken from the deli etc... all fine. One girl went all out and made homemade greenchili. She really wanted everyone to try it, so the people, me included had small bowls-it was really good.
later she came to my desk saying she didn't want to have any left so I should have more, she kept up on it so I went and got another small bowl. Now people were going in and out of the kitchen, getting this and that-not just me. At this point I had two small servings of chili-and two tortillas and a donut, nothing more.
at about 11:30, I went to get lunch along with the girl who sits across from me, when we walked in there were about six people, I made a comment that it looked like everyone had the same idea...
one of the women-who is older and can be very very snippy and bitter or very sweet depending on where someone who works in management is standing then makes the comment "well, from what I hear you were already in here eating this morning..." in a very nasty tone
to which I reply "yes, having some of XXXX's chili, XXXX really wanted everyone to try it and she said she didn't want to take any home, we ALL had some"
This women goes, "well, I don't think she'll have to worry about THAT(taking it home)"
I replied "yes, it's very good" and left it at that, then I went and told XXXX what happened, someone else made a comment that i'd gotten in trouble, my manager heard and asked what was I talking about-I laughed and told her-my manager what had happened and she asked me who said it-I told her and she got this shocked look on her face. The woman who made the comment doesn't let her nasty side show to managers. I told my manager, I don't think you or anyone in management will ever see how this woman can be to her coworkers when you all aren't around.
I shouldn't have said that but it ticked me off. I used to work directly under the woman who made the snide comment, she'd come in and just rant and rave about EVERYONE, especially the management.
next time I'll just stay out of the damned kitchen.

| | Fridai, I wouldn't let that snippy coworker ruin your enjoyment of potlucks in the future.
Ignore her, honey. It sounds like your manager finally got to hear the "real" story of how this woman treats her coworkers.

| | What Lynn said. Plus, can you get the green chili recipe?
Seriously, though, ignore the idiots. They're everywhere, and it's just a waste of your time thinking about them. |

| | Now Wormie's comment would have been an awesome comeback.
Seriously, don't worry about the nasties in the world. And certainly don't let her ruin your enjoyment.

| | Oh Wormie-that's good.
I did ask her for the recipe, she said she'd write it down and give it to me this week. She told me the basics, cubed pork stirfried, then mixed with stewed tomatoes, chili, water and a little flower.

| | yeah, well there's a brain dead bad speller over here
here's the recipe:
Get the roasted chili...
Chop your pork I usually used pork chop cause you need to add some fat so that there’s oil at the end…
Stir them in the pan.. (DO NOT DRAIN THE JUICE) the juices are part of the taste.
Add salt, black pepper and garlic salt
Once the pork is cooked and brownish in a way you add flour to your pork
Then throw in your green Chile
Add tomatoes (Whole tomatoes in the can) make sure you add the tomatoes juice and water
Let it simmer and if it’s too watery just keep adding flour until you like it…
If you like it really spicy leaves the seed in when you chop your green Chile
If you don’t like it hot remove the seed
If you like it medium leave some seed in
