I really love my company...

...well, most of the time. Today is no exception.

Just got this e-mail from our COO:

Quote:
OK! I believe the last time I was in on a Sunday I got more calls and e-mails than I have received today! Due to what seems to be excessive boredom, we will be closing at 3:30 today, switchboard at 4. That should give everyone enough time to "get caught up", and still get a early start on the weekend.

LOL...getting out early is nice. Have a COO who recognizes when business is slow and people need a break is priceless.

Re I really love my company...

The funny thing is that coming from this guy, this is TOTALLY out of character. But I'm not about to complain.

Re I really love my company...

That's way cool. Nice boss man.

We have summer hours. Which means we work one extra hour every other day of the week and leave 4 hours earlier on Fridays.

Today we took full advantage of it. Most of my department left at noon and spent a day at Belmont Park. My boss sprang for the beer.

It was a good day.

Re I really love my company...

Don't let him fool you, this guy can be really horrible to people. Like I said, this is totally out of character. We have half Fridays in the summer where every other week you work an extra half hour for three days, then leave at noon on Friday (we only had to make up half the time). Unfortunately this will be the last year of that though, so we were given the choice between taking the regular half Fridays or a day and a half of extra vacation. We've been discussing whether or not we'll get extra vacation days next year since they took this away, but I really doubt it.

And yes Wormie, we love hard working women! And we do have a few openings right now. There are even two Florida offices. If you're seriously interested, let me know!

Re I really love my company...

I wanna work with you people.

We don't close offices. Ever. Haven't once in the ten years the company has been in existance. Even when the power goes out... we've got to be there in case it goes back on...

Someone like myself, who doesn't have patients waiting for her, is no exception. If I want to get paid, I have to be there. Always. Unless I'd like to use personal time...

I do get to hold luncheons, however, so I get to have some great food on the job sometimes. But, that also means I'm working through lunch. Hmm... I'm off to go put in my resume at Max's company too!

I have no experience in insurance or construction. What could I do for you?

Re I really love my company...

Depends on what you do! I'm not sure what the Florida offices specialize in, but there are a lot of non-insurance jobs, and I didn't know a thing about insurance or construction when I started.

Our office generally closes sometime between 3 and 4 the day before a holiday or holiday weekend, but it's not a given so we never know for sure until that day. It's definitely a nice little perk.

Re I really love my company...

Hey, I'll start watching out for those job announcements from Florida from my company, too! And you are certainly well qualified except for that part where you'll have to convert. We can work on that later.

lol.
Thanks to both of you. Margo - the conversion is probably out, though.
And jobs outside of Florida would be GREAT - I'm ready to relocate!

Re I really love my company...

We have a ton of other locations as well - Chicago, Denver, St. Louis, Kansas City (the best, of course!), a couple out east.
