My weird day...

My weird day began at 5 am when I woke up because I was cold. Thermastadt reads 69. Weird. I try to go back to bed, but can't... so I decide to bake some chicken. After all, I don't have something to bring for lunch, lol.

I have this luxury of time today because I am "on the road" today, and on top of that, I'm starting out in my home town. So instead of driving 45 minutes to work, then driving 45 minutes back to my town in order to start my day, I get to just start from here. Yay!

The other (possibly) good thing today is that we're expecting 6-8 inches of snow. That would really be awful, but, I'm thinking if it starts before I finish being on the road out here, I might not even go to the office. I think if that ends up being the case, I'll call my boss and see if it's ok for me to have the afternoon off.

I am sort of hoping I can drive in, however. I have something exciting to talk to her about, and I need to know if I can have a few days off next week. I think she'll say "yes," but, I'd rather ask her face to face.

So if I get to drive in, or if I don't, there will be some serious joy either way. Unless, of course, I drive in, and she tells me I can't have time off next week. That would suck Let's hope that doesn't happen!

Well... I got hired for a promotion, so my weekends will be tied up with that. I know she won't care about that (or she'll be happy, or whatever... it just won't adversely affect my job).

However, the company I will be working for on weekends called me to offer me a training manager position. They're willing to work with the fact that I have a full time job already, so training would be done in the evenings. (Most of the people I will be training will be working other full time jobs, as well).

The only trouble is I need to fly to Chicago next week. That means I need to take a day off (at the very least) from work. They're paying for the flight, hotel (if I stay long enough to warrent one), etc.

So, hopefully boss lady will be happy for me and say yes. But, technically, I'm asking to take off time from one job to give to another... so I can see this would be something that wouldn't thrill her. I thought about lying about why I needed time off, but, I like my boss too much to lie to her. She's usually pretty cool, I'm hoping she'll be cool with this too. She knows how badly I need the money.

This being holiday time, and me having a ton of schmoozing to do with referring physician's offices... who knows. I've already told her which offices I'll be going to... I think as long as I can get them all in before Christmas and not cut corners, she should be ok with it. Who knows, she may even be happy for me.

I'm hoooooome. Boss is cool with it. Promo people are cool with it. I have a confrence call "initial training" session tentitively scheduled for this afternoon.

It's snowing geese and ducks or something out there. I was sliding all over the place. I got my town done except for one office (I was too afraid since they hadn't plowed the road it was on at all yet.)

I just heard back from them. They're even honoring my request to fly me out of CT rather than JFK or LGA. I would have spent more on hiring a car to take me to JFK or LGA than I would have made for the day... so I'm so relieved!!!

I was honestly planning on trying to get in around 4 am just so I could drive without scary New York traffic, and I could drive myself. Thank God for Bradley!!!
