Christmas at Work

Last year, we did NOTHING for Christmas at work. No office party, no gift exchange, decorations, zip. The company shut down for the holiday week though. (I was a consultant and didn't get paid. This year, I'm salaried and the company is open Figures, huh?)

Anyhow, one of the the other women in the office and I talked everybody into doing stockings for one another this year. I bought everybody a cheap stocking, and we hung them up. Anybody who wanted to could put stuff in people's stockings.

And, that same woman had a party at her house last week. So, we took our stockings to her house and opened them. It was a BLAST. We got toys like nerf guns, crayons, and other silly stuff.

Boss went out of town for the holidays; so Friday we goofed off and played with our toys. Today is pajama day at work (My doing - I can't believe they went along with it) I'm sitting here in Christmas PJ pants and fuzzy slippers. I'm even drinking hot chocolate.

This is much better than listening to the girls fight over their Christmas toys

Re Christmas at Work

I'm surprised that many people would own pajamas.

I like the idea of the stockings. That seems like a lot of fun.

We did Secret Santa at work on Friday. We only do it with our department. It was nice, but I'm relatively sure no one got any gifts that they were excited about. It is not the secret santa where you get a name and you shop for them... it's the "buy a generic gift and we'll draw numbers to see who gets it" type of thing. I'd rather buy something with SOMEONE in mind. It sort of wound up being whatever was the most inappropriate gift for you to get was the one that you ended up with (like the diabetic getting the tower of chocolates...)

Re Christmas at Work

We had a White Elephant at the holiday lunch with my department and another department. My contribution was a cheesy Price Is Right DVD game. I walked away from it with a pedometer and a box of Russell Stover chocolates... got a good chuckle.

Only 5 of us were in the office today, and some wore sweats.
