So I walk in, and ask the desk if they're hiring. Young lady answers me, and says they're hiring for desk and night audit. I respond that this is wonderful, since I do night audit. I put in an app right away. The next morning, I call and talk to the FD supervisor. She says yes, she received my app, but they're not currently hiring for night audit.

Then the GM tells me that the person I'm being hired to replace doesn't know that he's being replaced. Nor does anybody else. And that they'd like to keep it that way for a week or so, to make sure that things are going to work out.

I found it funny that the first one you talked to knew they were hiring/looking for night audit help while the higher ups thought (or were trying to conceal that fact) it was a big secret.

Yeah Eris-I'm glad you found a job that will work for you-it sounds pretty good.
I personally would only go back into a hotel if I gouged my eyes out first.... or were desperate... but if you can make it work-and I am sure you can good luck and hopefully lots of good stories...
