Lucky Bad Luck

My tire punctured today on the way to work. That's the bad luck part. The good luck part is that it happened right near work and not 25 miles away from work. I heard it hissing when I got out of the car. There is a gas station two blocks away and I was able to have a coworker drive over there to pick me up. Bad news is because of the location of the hole, I need a new tire. But, I still feel pretty damn lucky, all in all.

Re Lucky Bad Luck

It's nice when life's little inconveniences come about in such a way that they don't turn into major ones, isn't it?

I once got a flat tire while turning into a service station. Literally while making the turn. I somehow bumped the metal plate on the curb cut.

Naturally, the station had no liability for the damage, but they fixed it right away.

Re Lucky Bad Luck

I had a flat tire last week. Not entirely flat, just VERY close. 2 stores over from the tire store.

Unfortunately, they weren't particularly speedy, but at least I didn't have to put on the spare.

Also fortunate, I'd opted for the road hazard warranty.

Re Lucky Bad Luck

Maybe luck comes in threes? Last flat tire I had, just a few weeks ago, was in the Walmart parking lot - as I was on my way in to check on a *different* tire. And I also had gotten the road hazard warranty stuff.

Re Lucky Bad Luck

Location is important. We had a guy get killed down the road from us a few months ago because he was changing a tire and a driver was not paying attention (changing the CD in his stereo or something) and hit the guy.

Be really careful when you're outside of your car on any road!
