The other day I stumbled across a member advice category that only had one submission in it so far. I thought it would be a fun place to post and mentioned it to a couple of other people (joecooper and nscanuck) who both seemed to think it would be fun. So Aaron, Joe, and I decided to get together and host a write-off about it.
So what's it about? If you go to the travel section, under destinations, there is a listing of countries. As far as I know, almost every country has a member advice section titled: "Traveler's Glossary - {Insert Country Name Here}"
Here is an example category (the glossary for Canada):

For some reason there is no Traveler's Glossary under America - apparently all that small town talk is understood by everyone!
Americans can still feel free to participate - if you have any knowledge of terms/phrases from other countries - or you can risk the "Off Topic" button by posting in General Itineraries (though I don't suggest it!)
If you are going to do a glossary for a country - check to make sure there is a listing for it first! I don't want people writing up a whole review and then finding out there is no place to post it!
The only rules are this:
1) Make up a list of words/phrases for a given country along with definitions.
2) Do not post your entry until May 21st (tentative date) - feel free to post any time after that date.
3) Include a list of all participants in your review.
If you are interested in participating, send me an email ( to
fyvel2@yahoo.com ) including your Epinions username and the country you are writing about and I will compile a list of participants and post them on my profile page at Epinions:
