The Manly Write-Off: Hawgwyld & Joubert's 3rd Anniversary

Oh, you lucky dog, you! I know what you were thinking -- "Man, I'm bored. I wish there was a good Epinions write-off to join. Hey, aren't HawgWyld and Joubert about to celebrate their third anniversaries? Maybe they're up to something!"

Well, junior, ol' Joubert and HawgWyld are up to something, indeed. HawgWyld celebrates his third Epinions anniversary on June 15, while Joubert celebrates his on June 18. So, they're hosting the Manly Man Write-Off with the help of char.mike, who has graciously agreed to put up a Web site for the event. And, yes, you're invited!

What the heck kind of write-off is this? Well, it's very simple - write about stuff that men like. It can be cheap beer, one of those "Lethal Weapon" films or anything else that's good and manly. And, since HawgWyld's anniversary falls on Father's Day this year, why not write about a gift for your dad or post something in Writer's Corner about the old man? If you think you have to be a man to join, phooey. You couldn't be more wrong. Everyone's invited, so be creative.

Want some details? Check out the Web site –

And, if you want to learn about the write-off Joubert and HawgWyld hosted last year, point your browser over here --

Want to join? Dandy! Just reply to this e-mail, or send a message to HawgWyld at HawgWyld@arkansas.net, Joubert at joubert@epinionsaddicts.com or char.mike at cbraden@donet.com

And don't forget to invite your friends!

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

Put me down tentatively. I may be traveling during that time frame and therefore late or really early posting.

Years ago I used to be a man. But I don't remember much about it.
