| | When cmuir reached her 200th review she hosted a writeoff "My favorite Epinions Writer" -- my chosen writer was Hard to Please. I've been his biggest fan ever since then.
I am approaching the 200th review mark and wanted to do something special to celebrate. In Mark's honor, I want to host a write-off in which the participants would write on any topic, but they would write in their best "Hard to Please" style.
I would like the proceeds to go to Mark (if he would accept) or to
his preferred cancer foundation or support group. I think it would be a great way to honor him and wanted to invite everyone to participate.
I would like to post reviews the weekend after Labor Day to give
everyone time to come up with a topic and hone their Hard to Please skills.
If you would like to participate, please email me: diverpam@aol.com
I'll post links to everyone's reviews on my profile page to make it easy to access.
Thanks,
Pam |

| | Let's get busy! | | Mark says he "would be honored to watch everyone make fools of themselves writing in HTP style!"
He has set up a PayPal account (will be active in a couple of days) and also has a PO Box for those that prefer not to use PayPal.
Please let me know if you would like to participate. Submissions can be posted anytime during the weekend after Labor Day.
Please help me make this the biggest event Epinions has ever seen!
Thanks,
Pam

| | I would be happy to participate, and will probably write a review on Mark's hometown (and my former hometown) St. Louis.
Perhaps on the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tour--not exactly your microbrewery!
Or, if I get back around Labor Day, which I plan on doing, perhaps the cafe with all the Elvis impersonators in Wright City (if Mark felt well enough, I would love to pick him up and bring him there. We do have friends we sometimes stay with off Hwy P in O'Fallon.) |

| | I'm in - I thought of doing this myself but I wouldn't have suggested writing in his style. YIKES I am so used to my own, that will be challenging for me. I'll have to review something easy LOL..

Or, go to PayPal and donate to "dude4u@netzero.net" | Question: I've never used PayPal. Exactly how would this work? Do I post, then when money for hits to the review for HTP show up, go to PP and have them debit one of my credit cards or debit/check cards for the amount that shows up on the review? I know this sounds weird, but never had a need [nor desire] to use one of these services.
Thanks,
Rouchelle

| | PayPal | | PayPal is not required.. just an option.
You can also send a check to his PO box.
I'm trying to remember the process for setting up a PayPal account. I've had mine for quite a while.
I recall that it was quick and simple and a credit/debit card is required. When you send money, they charge it against your credit card. The money is then immediately emailed to the recipient.
I've got more information posted on our website http://interlinediscounts.com/writeoff.htm
You can also email me if you still have questions. DiverPam@aol.com

| | | Ahem!
If I could be so bold as to interrupt, I am, for better or worse, submitting an entry to the H2P write off. However, I'm not going to try to write in the same fashion: I'm one who believes that originality should be left to its own. Besides, I've tried to construct something in that vein, and made one bloody mess after another. I'm happy to aid the man, I just can't make an ass of my self doing it!
If the commandment to write in his style is firm, then I apologize, and withdraw. It is ready, and I think pretty good.
If you like, simply send me a private message, and tell me if it's okay.
Thanks, Micheal |

| | | Just a quick addition:
I've come up with something that I think will pass muster, while it may not be perfectly in H2P's syle, it does, I think, have his spirit. I will now officially throw my hat into the write-off ring, god help us all.
Just when is this thing to be presented?
Let me know through a private post, or simply leave a reply, I'll come back later for a peek.

I'll give it some thought, and if I decide to go with PayPal, I'll get in touch. Just never needed PP or service like it before now.

| | Oh, I'd love to do it, but I think it would require too much creativity and brain power and I seem to be sorely lacking in those things these days. If I can knock something together, I'll do it. How many people are involved so far?

Cindy | Cindy,
I have it on the calendar for Sept. 7th, 8th and 9th. Now I need to remember where that info came from. |

| | Dear Micheal and Cindy,
Since the idea is to help Mark, you don't have to write in his style. Just hire him to write your piece for you.
I'm trying to do that, but negotiations are not going well. He wants to charge extra for each variation of "erect" and double for every urination reference.
I know it's for a good cause, but that's a lot of money. I hope you have better luck.
Best wishes,
Peter |

Don't worry, I think I've got something close, but, in regards to H2P's demands regarding prices: do his charges for variations on the word "erect" remain firm?
Sorry, couldn't resist...

| | | Please, DiverPam, read this! | | I'm taking down the names over at the interlinediscounts site, and the way the font is, I can't make out one of the names, it's in the third column, on the right: is it lisa_j, or lisa_i?
I want to be sure, so the right person gets credit.
By the way, I'm ready, just sitting on the pad, all systems go.
Just watch the rocket blow up right under me!
If anyone else sees this, and can clarify for me, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, could someone ask her for me?

| | | Two final questions:
1) In regards to your request to set up a link to the interlinediscounts site, how does one go about doing that? I'm not much of a computer geek, (something I say with some degree of pride) and have no idea how to connect from my review to the site in question;
2) In regards to the collection of monies from the hits, how do we do that? Is it my responsibility to send the money, or is it collected from the review for me? No problem either way, I just want to be sure it makes it to him.
Sorry I'm being a pain in the ass, but I'm new to this, and would like it to work. I've had some medical troubles myself, and it makes me want to get this to go well.
Best, Micheal |

| | ANOTHER WAY TO RAISE MONEY | |
Hi,
I was trying to look thru the posts about HTP and the write-off, but for some unknown reason the side scrolll bar is gone and i have to highlight all the text to be able to move down the page!
But then I had a great idea! C2it, is giving everyone who signs up and sends money $10.00 just for signing up, so anyone who has not signed up can go there, sign up, send HTP $10.00 and then automatically have $10.00 deposited back into their c2it account. The c2it account can be linked to your credit card or bank account. The money you receive can be placed onto your credit card immediately.
I think/hope the promotion is still going on and the address is http://www.c2it.com.
I could never ever hope to imitate HTP. For me, he has been the best of the best on epinions and no one can come close to his entertaining style and kindness. I wrote to him, when I was new and needed some answers and he answered my questions in his own unique, but kind style and made a friend for life. I am sure he doesn't even remember, but I am a fan always!
