The Comedy Write-Off

To quote Dave Barry "It takes a very special kind of random person to be a humor columnist. Every year, hundred of thousands of people try their hand at this demanding profession. After a few months, almost all of them have given up and gone back to the ninth grade."

This is why I've decided to host a humor writing write-off. There are only two requirements to be a part of this write-off.

1. It can be on any given topic.

2. It must be comedy.

Even if you don't think you're funny try your hand at writing comedy anyway. I've heard way to many writers give the excuse "but I'm not very funny" and have the audience rolling on the floor when it's time to showcase their work.

As a side bonus of this write-off, after it's all said and done I would like to hold vote for the funniest one out of the bunch which I post here via the poll feature. Remember that humor is very subjective and what is hysterically funny to one person may not be to another.

The nitty gritty details:

The deadline to sign up for this write-off is June 20th.aaron@thuntek.net is my email address. Please send me your epinions handle, email address, and topic if you want to appear in this write-off. On June 25th I will email all the participants with the names and instructions to include in their epinion. I will post the voting poll on June 30th.

Well, I would love to do this write-off. And, I have the perfect topic. But, epinions doesn't have the product in their data base. In fact, they don't have a section on Hampsters.

Not really a hampster but.... it falls under the rodent catagory.... in fact if you now of any movies involving hampters that may be a good place to start....in fact I wonder if their is any rodent care books out there....

Since I failed to read the write-offs that where currently underway I failed to noticed there is another comedy write-off going at the exact same time as this one therefore this write off has be canceled in effort to just create one comedy write-off so please join bwyckoff1's write if you are interested in a comedy write off but please refrain from large run on sentences such as the one that I am currently writing.

Count me in. I haven't decided which movie I want to review yet. I'm planning on either reviewing Deadly Prey or one of those cut-and-paste "Ninja" movies from Hong Kong made by the likes of director Godfrey Ho and producers Joseph Lai or Tomas Tang.

And yes, they are indeed comedies (albeit unintentional).
