Does anyone else have particular tasks that they find incompatible with creativity?
One of the reasons I stopped posting the creative writing challenges was because I was in the middle of a huge proofreading project and found that I couldn't write a creative sentence to save my life.
Editing I find to be a highly creative task. Proofreading is mind-boggling dull and requires me to turn an entire different part of my brain on. I suppose there is a way to overcome this, but I haven't figured it out yet.
Do you find certain things to be incompatible with creative writing? Or is it simply a lack of discipline?
