| | Anyone want to join me in my quest for the Three Day Novel? | | I am planning to enter this year's contest for the 3 Day Novel. I am not looking for collaborators (well, not right now, anyway - ask me again at 4 PM on Day 3). I am looking for others to join me in my torturous journey to stardom (or perhaps it will be your torturous journey to stardom!).
What is the 3 Day Novel contest, you ask? It is a competition in which you register in advance, pay an entry fee ($50), and then, by an honor system, write a full novel in three days over Labor Day weekend (September 5, 6 and 7, 2005). The winner receives publication. The runners up receive money. The top writers get shortlisted with publishers all over North America, including Canada and Mexico.
Where can you read more about the rules, how the honor system works, and other notes on the general hysteria involved in embarking on such a journey? At http://www.3daynovel.com , of course!
I have already solicited from my significant other a promise of dog walking, cat feeding, espresso refills and sandwiches for three straight days - is your significant other (or local hotel chain) up to the task of supporting you in your work?
Who wants to join me in my insanity? |

| | Re Anyone want to join me in my quest for the Three Day Novel? | | Having attempted the contest where you attempt to write a novel in a month, and failed miserably, I don't even want to THINK about trying this one. But good luck!

| | Re Anyone want to join me in my quest for the Three Day Novel? | | I was just going to say I have yet to finish anything for NaNoWriMo, so three days sounds pretty much out of my reach. Not to mention given past history, I might actually be having the baby that weekend.
Good luck, though! Let us know how it goes. |

| | Re Anyone want to join me in my quest for the Three Day Novel? | | If I could just decide on the novel I want to write, I might join you, but as I haven't decided this yet, it would be a bit tough.

| | Re Anyone want to join me in my quest for the Three Day Novel? | | It's not the weekend before for me - it will be the start of week four (and therefore the weekend of Doing Progress Reports).
Hubby suggested that I try to write a novel that weekend anyway, but just not sign up.
You know, when I had to write my future life history in college, I did make myself become a famous children's writer after I finished teaching....

| | Re Anyone want to join me in my quest for the Three Day Novel? | | Not this year. It was hard enough getting a textbook from conception to the printer in 4 weeks. I haven't the mental energy yet to do something like this again for at least another few months.
