This outfit is in their nascent stages, so there are probably few, if any, here who have dealt with them. Anyone see any red flags? http://www.associatedcontent.com/ | Quote:

I know some people on another forum who have used Associated Content with mixed results. Some folks have been able to submit articles and receive decent offers for their work. Many others, myself included, have received very low offers for their efforts. We're talking $3 - $5.
I recently submitted 4 wedding articles and was offered $5 each. I declined and submitted those same articles to Constant Content and the offer was substantially highter. Of course you can submit to both and try your luck that way if you're so inclined.

they pay EXTREMELY low and it's hardly worth the work.
I received an email detailing what sort of articles they were looking for - I submitted an article based on this and received an offer of $3.00.
the article went to Constant Content - it may sit there for awhile before a client picks it up, but I refuse to take such a ridiculous offer.
but that's just me.

I've received offers all over the board from this site, from $0 (asked for permission to publish for free, which I declined) to $20. They purchase non-exclusive rights. So far, all I've submitted to them is stuff I've already been paid for elsewhere. And even then, I'm not accepting anything under $10. Their manner of determining offers seems to be pretty arbitrary, and they have made ridiculously low offers to some. I don't think I'd send them original work. It wouldn't be worth the work, as ____ noted.

Similar experience here. I'm sure I will continue to submit the occasional piece to them, but any more offers that are not at least double digits will be declined, and I'll submit elsewhere.

think of it this way - if you have fluff you're looking to get rid of, then go to AC. Clear out your box and get it into circulation.
but not if you want real money for it.

AC, has not impressed me on the way they chose who they pay and what they pay, when they do accept an article submitted.
I base this opinion on my experience and the experience of other writers I know who also have placed articles there.
They seem to only have one person that responds to articles submitted.
That most are not real tickled with. That have had dealings with her.
