Wbm Suspends Deweys Program

Based on information I just read in the Editor's Forum and Members Forum of WBM, WrittenByMe has just suspended their Dewey Exchange program as of 9/13/2001.

http://www.writtenbyme.com/news/dewey13092001

On a personal note:

I wasn't planning or counting on redeeming Deweys anyway... I write to write, inform, educate, learn, communicate, and occasionally tickle. Whether the tickle comes from a feather or a sledgehammer, it all depends on your perspective.

I've used my experiences at Epinions and WBM to hone my craft, learn my audience, get exposed to other styles and challenges, and keep the thoughts flowing against all hope that perhaps I will never have to see the inside of another server room ever again.

Time will tell, but I'm glad they are still there for "batting practice" and the unlikely "pot of brass" of syndication.

On a silly note:

Knock Knock
Who's There
Dewey
Dewey who?
Dewey stay or dewey go now?

Angry WBM shuts down Dewey reward program

Without telling anyone - that I know of - WrittenByMe closed down their Dewey reward program as of 9/13. They were supposed to have paid out the quarterly Dewey:cash payment on 9/1; instead, they just quietly didn't do anything and you have to look around in the Help section to find out they have discontinued the program.

All the comments and ratings capabilites are in place, and they still count Deweys "so you know how many people have read" your work. They still work as a go-between for selling pieces, too.

It looks like they're suspended STS selection as well as additions to Gold, too. They haven't said as much, but I know a lot of folks who are in the backlog and they MUST be f-ed in the head if I'm only Silver with all the Golds who have suggested me.

All I want to do is reach 10,000 on my rant and I'll be happy.
