Necessary Skills:

Ability to extract brief questions and answers from conventional written materials and your own experience and imagination for a flashcard database. Requires a strong aptitude for teaching, working with words, including spelling and grammar, comprehension of written material, and the ability to follow instructions. You will need to make diagrams using a drawing program which we can supply for some subjects. You must have a reasonable mastery of the subject matter on which you will be writing. We prefer that you have a strong background in education and the subject on which you choose to write. You can telecommute from anyplace in the world.

Organizational Status:

Free World University, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is building the first real Internet University based on the engine used at World Health Medical School. It is and always will be freely available to everyone in the world. We are beginning with preschool through 12th grade. We currently have a staff that is covering the standard curriculum subjects: language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Now we want to expand our curriculum beyond what is taught in public schools, and cover social skills, practical mental and physical health and character development, alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse, practical business skills, and the trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and air-conditioning. We also want to add an ancillary program in child rearing skills for parents.

At the same time, we are producing a DVD describing the vision of our program. We will describe the problems with the current schooling system, our methods of online accelerated learning in which the student can learn from 10 to 30 times as fast as conventional methods, and then go on to suggest experiential models that parent cooperatives and other organizations can use to supplement factual learning. We will describe a different model of augmented child development as a basis for a more functional society.

Job Description

Your job will be to reduce conventional written material and ideas of your own to simple questions and answers. In addition, we are looking for visionary writers to contribute to the script for our DVD. Our goal is to develop over 500,000 web-based flash cards and incorporate word derivations and mnemonics for maximum ease of learning and retention. You can work from home and set your own hours and amount of time that you put in, within reason. We will provide the materials that you need. You would be an independent contractor. There is a flashcard training program as well as a web interface authoring tool at World Health Medical School, a free online medical school. You can visit our website and go either to the grammar school or high school and see what has already been accomplished. As you are aware, teachers today are forced to "teach to the test." They often find this demoralizing and understandably so. Yet standardized testing is a fact of life. We see the solution as our web interface flashcard training program which will do this more efficiently and at no cost to student or teacher. This will free the teacher up to be a discussion leader and teach in the style that is more suited to his or her personality.
