I had this in my emailbox today, addressed to me. Anyone else get one?

I'm contacting you because you're a skilled writer.
We're launching a new website. And we'd like you to use your gift for writing to HELP US HELP OTHERS!
You have the three characteristics of a great contributor:
* Excellent writing skills
* A helpful and caring attitude toward others
* The ability to reflect deeply on your own experience.
PearlSoup.com is a community designed for collecting and presenting true-life personal stories of everyday WISDOM. We believe that everyone can discover wisdom in his or her own life. And by reading others' stories of "life defining" experiences, we can improve our own lives even as we're being entertained.
Everyone has many of these experiences, but like dreams, they tend to fade away and be forgotten, or if remembered, their true significance remains unplumbed and unspoken. By writing them down, in effect "telling ourselves our own stories," we can learn a great deal about ourselves and solidify the understanding of the world that the story provides. If you've ever kept a journal, you already know this.
Once the story is written, many others can benefit from it. That's where PearlSoup.com comes in. It's a place where everyone will be able to read others' stories on many different topics, all for free.
In addition to gaining the satisfaction of helping others, you'll also be able to read others' responses and comments. You can use those responses to deepen your understanding of your own stories. Your writing will also be exposed to new audiences, leading to new opportunities.
We realize that if you're a professional author you normally have the expectation of getting paid for your writing. PearlSoup, however, is a community motivated by a different purpose. Our goal is to capture people's wisdom, to be shared on our website with anyone who visits. We're looking for amateur authors, in the original sense derived from the Latin amare (to love): "one who does something for the love of it."
We invite you to come to our site and read a few of the stories already posted. After you've had a chance to get a better feel for what we're trying to do, we'd love it if you'd write up one or more of your own "defining experiences," or contribute something you've already written.
There's a lot more about what we're doing at the site. Please take a look now by clicking the following link:

We're also very interested in your reactions to the site, and any ideas you have to improve it.
Please share this letter with others you know who might be interested in contributing their experiences. Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you on the site!
