On 9/15/09, I wrote my first Epinions review. And then, two more the same day.

Ten years later, I haven't posted a review in years but I still check in with the friends I made on that site every single day.

I Love Epinions.

My 10 year anniversary isn't til next January - you must have been part of the first wave, Deb!

I was and am thankful for Eps for two things: the first was the money that it brought in back when we really needed all the little extras I could swing, and secondly is that it brought me close to so many of you guys, too! Love

ETA: Oh, hey, look at that, I just logged in to check my join date and I've got a whole $8.91! And the last time I redeemed a check? March of '07!! Roll

I joined in Dec 1999. Amazing how quickly time flies. I have written, but I am very sporadic, whenever the mood fits I might push out 2 - 5 reviews and then I am quite for a long time.

Hubby gets grumpy because I have a box of "stuff to write about" under my desk away from kicking range, but it's been sitting there and growing over the years. Smile

My last check was October of '07, but I actually have enough there I could redeem it if I wanted.

I joined on March 10 -- and I'm pretty sure I wrote a review or two. I've deleted a few of my earliest works, so the first remaining is from March 11.

I last redeemed in March, and I have enough to redeem again if I wanted to, but I usually wait until I'm really hurting to cash out. It's not much, but it's usually grown to enough to feed us for a week (mind you, feed us very inexpensively for a week... I am certain we spend less on groceries than almost anyone!)

I am grateful for my involvement. My 10 year anniversary is in January.

I'm a late-comer...I won't hit 10 years until 2011. Wink

I'm with the rest of you though...I write sparodically, but do check reviews, especially when I'm buying something major. IMO, it's gone so far beyond the days when I read reviews for entertainment. 99% of the reviews aren't really "fun" any more, they're pretty dry, but informative.

Eps really was a forerunner in public-run wiki-type articles, though wasn't it? And remember the circle-clicks (how freaking boring was THAT) and all the drama and controversy?

What ever happened to Nirav?

I Love Nirav!

I have a bunch of reviews in Word just waiting to be edited- new house = new appliances. I haven't written for a couple of years, but am looking forward to it again.

Edited to add I Love you guys, too. I am so glad I wandered in here (and that Deb came after me when I left in a huff the first day I was here, lol!)

Dec. 1999 will be my 10th birthday or anniversary or something. I don't write much anymore but I'm still involved and still love it. Both the mother site and the friends I made and EA have brought much happiness to me through out this past decade Smile

I joined in November, 1999. It's hard to believe it was 10 years ago.

Epinions has been a blessing in my life in many ways. (For awhile there, it was also a minor addiction, but I got over that about 8 years ago.)

When a thought takes one's breath away, a grammar lesson seems an impertinence.

I can't believe that I joined Epinions over nine years ago. Seems like yesterday.

Last time I posted there was in early 2006. Haven't written anything anywhere since, but I kind of miss it.

Been pondering the possibility of deleting all my old Epinions junk, cancelling my old account, and sneaking on under a new name (which I would not divulge to anyone) and doing nothing but straight arrow book reviews. I read at least a book a week, so I'd have plenty of fodder.

Plus it would give Tom (sleeper) an opportunity to NH my dumb ass again.Toohappy

(By the way, nice new digs, Amy.)

Don't I know it!

In recent years, whenever I stopped by, I felt like I should dress up in my Sunday go to meeting clothes and wipe my feet before coming in. Don't get me wrong. The women here are great, but sometimes a guy needs to bond with other guys.

Now and then I want to sit around and scratch my nether parts, spit, and talk dirty. Good old-fashioned manly posting. Posting with hair on it.

Where did all the guys go?

That's cause you spent so much time hanging out with Jeff, Slick. Wasn't he the one who shaved his legs for bicycling events?

'Talking money' seems to not be quite the 'sin' it once was over there.

'Pay per post' promotions, when they are active, have really opened the spigots for everyone, if they are willing to write.
