Serrano butter
I have a lot of serrano peppers growing right now. I don't use them in any of my breads, but I do use them in butter:

Life is too short for boring bread.
It's also too short for boring butter.

2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 stick butter
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 head roasted garlic (45 mins at 350 degrees)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
2 or 3 seeded and chopped serrano peppers

Soften butter in microwave for 15 to 20 seconds
Dump all in chopper/food processor
Run at high speed until blended

You can use fresh habaneros or other hot peppers, depending on your tastes and resistance to pain.

I *wish* I had that many serranos growing in my garden. Right now, there's 5 bell pepper buds on one plant and about twelve serrano buds between the two serrano pepper plants.

I've dried and planted a slew of serrano seeds trying to sprout up some serranos in the starter pot in preparation for the next growing season. I figure I'll walk to the plant store next week or so to pick up a few large pots to seat them in.

No more green onions. What a waste of time. All that effort, and one straggler has survive.
