Not quite ready forDom Perignon 1993, but a couple good bottles of red.

Two good pieces of news today. Big Grin

At the halfway point of the fiscal year (we run July through June), my division's books are in the black.

Given that I had to deal with

1) Severe economic downturn
2) 9/11
3) anthrax

and I'm a direct marketer from New Jersey, I consider black ink a reason to celebrate. (It's not just a smidge of black either...we're not putting cash down on the floor and rolling around in it, but we look healthy.)

Second piece of good news:

Although we don't run our books calendar year, I like to do calendar year comparisions just to get a picture of how we are progressing.

Our sales growth from 2000 to 2001 was 14.58%! Most of our fellow promotional products folks are reporting flat or negative growth. It's not uncommon for major suppliers to be down 20 to 40 percent. In light of that, we are looking great!

WTG, duckie! That's fantastic growth for your industry!

Suport Senator Clinton's candidacy by contributing here. Every little bit helps. If you don't want to give, at least sign up to learn more via email. Lots of grass-roots stuff already going on.

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

You can't just call anything a miracle these days . . . please apply to the Vatican's Miracle Verification Bureau with copies in quintuplicate, keep the pink copy for your personal records, say a novena and burn the peach copy in the name of the fodder, sin and the Holy Toast . . .

. . . you gotta be very careful with what you call a miracle in these heathen times.

Andy, can we get a few pix of you with the red wine on you? Pretty please with truffle almonds dropped in soymilk? Angel

Good job!

Congratulations, Andrea. The initiative you applied to achieve this extraordinary and possibly even miraculous success is impressive, and I hope you are enjoying your accomplishment.

Even more admirable is your courage. When I have wine on me, I just hope no one notices.

Oh goodie!

I hear that Ford, Enron, Cameapart and Fingerhut all have some employees they'd like you to start interviewing right away, since you're rolling in it.
