Now this is odd. I show "cannot connect to work server" at the bottom. Makes me think that I've been genoming, but it's not going anywhere? Anyone see the same thing?

Mine says it's working, but @home decided to leave my machine again today. Had to reinstall once again.

I just went to check out my genome stats & found that they gave me a certificate this evening for completing 10,000 points.

What are points when talking about genome@home?

Thanks

I've been waiting for an answer to this, too. I have no idea what they are, or if I have any. Give me a link to what you're looking at please.

I did a little bit of a tirade at the GAH/FAH board. Essentially what I'm seeing is that Folding (a private company) was brought in by the Stanford researchers when their funding was drying up. Genome at Home appears to be the weak sister. I joined a chorus of protesters who said that we were not going to move to FAH unless all our GAH work counted towards that total. I, um, said some other things too. I got sympathy, but little else.

Erik, they claim that you should only be receiving GAH work provided you set the configuration that way. Do you want to check in your system tray and see? FWIW, I set up my father's computer over the holidays, configured it properly and they still ended up doing a FAH project. Rolleyes

We spent two years clawing to #30. I really don't feel like starting out not even ranked in the top 1000. I may have also implied that the FAH organizers don't know the first thing about community motivation.

More later.

Suport Senator Clinton's candidacy by contributing here. Every little bit helps. If you don't want to give, at least sign up to learn more via email. Lots of grass-roots stuff already going on.

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

George, you must have a tremendous amount of influence. I got credited with 1752 work units overnight.

While I know that I lost many, many more than that over the past few months, I'll chalk that up to a glitch and not your awesome talent as a professional kvetch.

Although, maybe, just maybe, you really are that good. !notworthy

I didn't beep because I expect to have that all taken away from me real soon.

At least it looks pretty for now. Then I can go back to looking at your butt. Big Grin

System tray? Is that Windows-specific? I’ve been using a Mac for 18 years and have never heard of such a thing.

When the Folding@Home v3.25 app is running, it shows three items under Preferences:
Identity
Network
Settings

They look like this:

http://www2.bitstream.net/~kosberg/temp/network.png
http://www2.bitstream.net/~kosberg/temp/settings.png

I’m pretty sure that when I initally installed the app it just asked for a team number and a user name. I don’t remember getting a prompt to choose FAH vs GAH.

I forgot about that, MacMan, sorry. Let me hammer on them a while. In the config for the Windows version, there is a preference setting for FAH or GAH units. Back with more news as I create it. Wink

Now that Amy has resurrected my comatose account, I can post to say that I'm folding! I'm folding!

And I got hubby (ka4iqd) to put it on his backup computer, too. Unfortunately, he hasn't put it on the fastest one, yet, but I'm working on it!

Julie

Greetings, Earthling
