I started applying for summer art festivals in January. As of yesterday morning, I'd been out and out rejected from one, and wait listed for two.

I'm 99% sure why I was rejected and wait listed (have been doing extensive research), so have been working on some "improvements" in my applications to have a better chance for some of the bigger ones.

BUT! Yesterday, I checked on one of the wait listed ones...lo and behold, I've been invited!

Stone Arch Art Festival

I'm really excited about this...didn't want to say anything yesterday because I needed to talk to hubby about actually accepting the invite (it's the weekend after the Grand Forks show I've done for two years...have not been accepted to that one yet, and it's complicated ), but I'm going !!!

Yip Skip...hope to see anyone from Mpls or in the immediate area, it really looks like a fun festival!!

No, I'm limited to where I want to drive and have a place to crash at this point. Maybe someday.

Got home this evening to another acceptance. Brookings, SD...it's a big one and I'm excited to have been invited to participate!!

Yip Skip, got my letter from Grand Forks today...I'm in!

That makes two in June (back to back, what was I thinking?!), two in July (I'll do the county fair again), and one confirmed in September.

August apps still need to go out.

Take a side trip to DeSmet and see where Laura Ingalls Wilder grew up. It's especially interesting in July, when they hold plays and pageants centered around the "Little House on the Prairie" books.

We went there when we lived in South Dakota and really enjoyed it.

If I have time, that's a possibility, Maryanne, thanks! The festival is in July, so it may work out well!!!

Well, we're off in the morning. Grand Forks this weekend, then renting a cabin for a few days, and down to Mpls for the second festival.

I'm really excited about this...Les and her family are coming up and it will be a lot of fun to get together with my sibs and their families.

Also got notification that I'm in a Des Moines show in October...Kim and Tom, I hope you guys make it out!!

How cool is that? Congratulations. You are putting on miles and seeing tons of awesome places. I hope that I can, what weekend is it?

First day done. OMG....we are soo tired. And I hope I have stock left for next weekend in Mpls. It was crazy insane!!!

We had a blast in Grand Forks. Sales were ho hum on Sunday, but it was still good. I made a few new pieces while we were at the cabin this week, polished them up today, and they will be displayed tomorrow.

Set up is (sort of) done for tomorrow. I had to make some changes...the damn cottonwood is just as bad here as it was up north, so I am going with the white tablecovers that don't show it as well. I'm looking forward to the wknd, already met and chatted with a couple of my artsy neighbors and they seem very nice!

I got to see Lynn today and had a nice hug!




I introduced her to Mark, showed him her jewelry and got to drool over all the new stuff. I'm not just saying this because I am so crazy about her, but her jewelry really stuck out at this show- she is way more talented and skillful than the other folks who were showing their stuff. Lynn's jewelry was amazing, and I heard other folks at the fair talking about "that gal over at C My Designs", and all were impressed. Yay Lynn!

Oh Cindy, you are too sweet! I wish we'd had more time to visit, but it was really nice seeing you and finally meeting Mark.

So the June shows are over. We did well. For the first year, the Mpls show was very good, and of course Grand Forks was awesome (they really know how to treat their artists ).

Now my biggest problem is to restock before Brookings in 3 weeks. I am nearly out of sterling silver chains, and have one necklace set left. It's a great problem to have!!

So off we go to Brookings this morning. I managed to get back in stock on most things, and have almost all my custom orders from the last two shows done.

Hubby said "Sell $20,000!" I told him if I did, the day job was toast.
