3 days down....
No soda (was only drinking one glass a day anyway) and no sweets or chips or other really rotten junk for three days now. Did have a half cup of cheese crackers today. First day, a bit of a headache, yesterday a breeze, today a whopper of a headache - had to go to bed and just sleep through some of it. Much better now.

No cereal, not too much in the way of carbs, period. Lots of protein and fruit, what I can tolerate.

I'm not only too big, but I'm having a lot of "stomach issues" to put it politely. Got to get this health stuff under control!

I'm hoping knocking off a few pounds will help fix my brand-new snoring issue, too - it only showed up when I put on the last few pounds. Years of only snoring if I was congested with a cold, and suddenly I'm snoring all night. Sigh. (And DH is far less patient about it than I was with him!)

Good luck! I bought a Fitbit and I l ove it - it keeps me moving. That plus diet changes has me 8% of my weight loss goal in two weeks. But that's not the best part. The best part is the blood pressure drop I've seen.

Good job - that's so important! Luckily, I've never had BP problems, even at the weight I'm at. I guess I've been very blessed in that department.

It hereditary - at age 40, like magic, we get this random high BP issue. Grr. Until then I was fine. Annoying genetics.

Good for you, Melanie. That explains the silly post we had back and forth last night. Lol

Not all fruits, unfortunately. I'm finding that I'm having trouble with higher fructose fruits. Bananas and canteloupe are okay so far. Berries are supposed to be good, but I hate fresh berries.

My SIL has the same problem with hereditary BP. She bought this to track her numbers:

http://www.ihealth99.com/

She said her doc loves it because all she has to do is bring up the app and there are all her numbers since her last visit. And the base charges her phone, too.

Yeah, I have the Withings wifi scale and the Withings wifi Blood Pressure cuff that plugs into the iPhone Smile I also track heart rate using Heart Rate iPhone app by Azumio and stress via Stress Rate iPhone app by Azumio. Fitbit also tracks my sleep a bit.

Geek health FTW

No headache yesterday, but boy did I have the munchies! 5 1/2 days - no sweets. Smile 5 1/2 days, 4.6 lbs gone bye-bye. Big Grin

Hey, that heart rate app is pretty neat! I didn't know an Apple camera was that good.

I'm totally derailed right now. I was doing perfectly for about 2 weeks. Now I look at the foods I've been eating and feel nauseous. It didn't help that today was a holiday, either.

Sometimes you'd just swear that holidays were actually invented by the Devil's subcontractor, the Diet Demon. Big Grin

Easter doesn't count as an overeating holiday in my book. I know there's the big Easter dinner and all, but it's just not a "cooking" holiday.

Ham? Scalloped potatoes? Lasagna? That's what my family did. As we were discussing it at work, it sounded like the menu for most people. None of that is terribly good for anyone :/

We had a lot more than that too. Sad Plus dessert! Sad

My lasagne is full of veggies. It's delicious and semi-healthy.

Plus, everyone knows it's the portion control that really counts. Wink
