Father of the Commodore 64 Dies
"Jack Tramiel, the man who helped to create the Commodore 64 and shaped the world of video games that we know today, passed away Sunday, reports Forbes. He was 83."

I still have a Commodore Vic 20 and it still works!

Blast from the past! We had a Pong game that my mom bought at Sears. I have a geeky friend that still tells me how jealous he was about that. I'm wondering if she still has that?

Me too. We had them at school, but my parents just didn't have a computer in the budget.

RE: Father of the Commodore 64 Dies
I had a C64, but wasn't able to do much with it. I think I had one game. I had the tape drive, and did learn how to write some very basic BASIC but never did much with that, either. I don't even remember what I did with mine - don't know if I gave it away or sold it in a yard sale.

We wouldn't have been able to afford one, either, if my uncle didn't own a computer store and got us a good deal.

Sean would have LOVED to have had it now.

I'll have to ask my dad, but I think I learned how to add and subtract on a Commodore 64... I know my dad wrote programs, and it had a cassette. He made a "program" to test my math skills. He sat me down with some lead bullets (I'm not kidding), and would have me count out 2 bullets, plus 3 bullets, equals how many bullets? I'd type in 5, and I'd move on to the next problem.

And is that a compliment, to be a brick house?

It's short for the phrase built like a brick sh*t house

If that were me I wouldn't take it as a compliment.

"Built like a brick sh*t house" used to be the best compliment you could give a woman. Wink That meant she was hotter than hot.
I love that old Commodores song. I hear it at karaoke sometimes (sometimes good-sometimes bad).

LOL. Okay, so like when my son's online teacher called to tell me he described his most favorite teacher as a BAMF. I had to explain that that was actually a compliment. In appropriate but still a compliment! Yeah, I had to step up and parent that.

RE: Father of the Commodore 64 Dies
That takes me back to when I picked up my grandkids from daycare years ago. My granddaughter (who was about 7 at the time) was in the front passenger seat and my grandson (who was around 4 at the time) was in the backseat. Just out of the blue my grandson asked, "Grandaddy, what is a motherf****r?"
He had heard it on the playground and I had to do some grandparenting. Wink When I got them home I told their father what he had said and before I could warn his mother (my daughter), he was in the kitchen asking her the same question. LOL I heard her shriek, and I knew what he'd done.

Which HAM?

Hard as a M...

Hot-ass-mess

?

HAM has a few meanings :/

I had "Bad Ass Mother... " on my wallet in HS. Pulp Fiction was popular, lol. I thought it was funny, anyway Smile
