A New Trek
Star Trek, the original series, was one of the glues that held my childhood imaginings together. The original show (ST:TOS as referred to by fans) began the year before I was born. The last episode aired when I was...

I have always loved Star Trek. Mainly the original...I never tire of seeing old episodes. I'm hoping I'll enjoy the new movie.

As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

We saw the new movie today. Not only did we thoroughly enjoy it, but the folks in the theater burst into spontaneous applause when it was done.

I'd like to see it again when I'm not quite so tired.

We saw it last night and loved it. My husband even said that it was better than Wrath of Khan. That is saying a LOT for him.

We saw it yesterday. I can't remember if it was here or another board that someone mentioned a line that got a burst of laughter from the entire crowd...you don't usually get that in a theatre around here, but EVERYONE laughed at it.

We liked it a lot. Hubby is not a Star Trek fan and didn't realize that was the movie I wanted to see (yeah, hate chick flicks, love action movies!) and even he liked it.

We had applause in the theater at the end of the movie, too. That's unusual here.

Liked it so much on Saturday that I took my mom to see it on Sunday. She's a Star Trek fan from way back and introduced me to Sci-Fi. We had a great time! It was great to be able to share that with her, and since my older daughter sat next to her for the film, it was like introducing the next generation to their own Star Trek.

I found parts of the film to be surprisingly emotional. Most fun I've had at a Star Trek film in a long while.

Y'all are inducing major cravings here.... Big Grin

I'm a tad younger than you, JP, but it was my Mom who got me hooked on ST as well. I think she had a crush on Nimoy, we've seen almost everything the man's been in. Wink But I loved ST in it's own right, and it set me on a lifelong love of science fiction in general.

Maybe I can find a babysitter this week!

Spock is hawt in this film. I felt a little weird thinking that yesterday until I read some comments on an EW article that pretty much stated the same thing (that it feels weird to think Spock is hawt!)

Of course, it's ZQ...Sylar, while the baddest guy out there, is pretty darned good looking.... Wink
